Creating hanging vines

PSP or equivalent paint program (recommended)

Start by creating a terrain, then go to the terrain editor.

Inside the terrain editor, click New to clear the terrain pattern.

Adjust the settings to:

  • Grid = 256 (fine)
  • Level = maximum
  • Size = 2nd smallest
  • Hard = low (blurriest setting)
  • Flow = medium

Draw some vertical squiggly lines starting from the top edge of the terrain. Leave some space on the left/right edges and between the lines. These lines will grow in the next few steps and if they are too tight together the leafy pattern won't show up well.
